We improve the mental health of elders and caregivers by engaging them in mindful and creative activities that counter the effects of elder isolation and caregiver burnout.
Our Programs
Love Kits
There’s a whole lotta love in our Love Kits! Love Kits provide senior communities with a “party in a box” to celebrate seniors and staff. They include:
Love Notes, decorated by volunteers
"You are wonderful" lapel pins for the staff
A creative activity for seniors to share what they love, to foster connection between seniors and staff
A Spotify playlist to boost moods and lower anxiety.
Students decorate Love Notes for the elders and staff at Wickshire Senior Living. Thank you lapel pins are also gifted to the staff to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication to caring for our beloved elders.
Capture the Love Senior and Caregiver Portraits
Our portraits capture the spirit of elders and caregivers, reminding themselves and their loved ones how much they are loved and appreciated.
We kicked off our portrait project, which involves capturing portraits and stories of elders and caregivers. Each photo shoot includes light makeup and hair, accessories, and tea to enjoy while sharing their stories.
In 2026, we plan to host an exhibition/panel discussion to invite the larger Charlotte community to interact with elders and caregivers in an engaging, creative way.
Lunch-n-Learns for Active Seniors
We partner with board member, Aura Love of Herb’N Spice Wellness to host monthly lunch-n-learns for seniors at the West Charlotte recreation center. Each month we educate seniors on how to improve their health and well-being by introducing them to mindful exercises and healthy food habits.
Aura Love teaches the seniors at the West Charlotte Recreation Center about the health benefits of mulled apple cider.
The West Charlotte Seniors pose for the camera so one of their Lunch-n-Learn friends would have a memento during his trip home to Puerto Rico.
Caregiver Tea Support Group
Our Caregiver Teas offer a safe, mindful space for caregivers to fill up their cup, empower each other, and be in community. A tremendous thank you to CenterWell Senior Primary Care for hosting our Caregiver Teas!
